Sonia brings empathy and understanding to her therapeutic relationships. Her specialties are helping people overcome anxiety, stress, depression, grief and loss, relationship issues, and life transitions.
Sonia often sees people who have experienced traumas (such as child sexual abuse, physical assault, adult sexual assault, and domestic/family violence), as well as people who are relatives of homicide victims, experiencing relationship, infertility or pregnancy related issues, or who are caring for a child with a disability.
As an accredited mental health social worker, a registered art psychotherapist, and an approved counsellor, Sonia draws on a variety of therapeutic methods to ensure her approach is helpful for you. This may include, for instance, aspects of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, non-directive counselling, interpersonal therapy, and art psychotherapy (such as art making, sand tray, therapeutic doll making, sculptural lifelines, and clay therapy).
Sonia also provides supervision and training for other professionals, such as social workers, art therapists, psychotherapists, and counsellors. |

Sonia is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Arts Therapists (ANZATA).
